Like many agents we always look at our newly listed properties to figure out what sort of buyer they might ideally suit. This amazing home was hotly debated. One team member (admittedly more mature) was really taken with the possibilities for empty nesters who could downsize without having to give up on the spacious rooms they are used to. Another saw it as a home with amazing access to facilities and a footprint that could grow with a family. But whether the garden is destined to house a swing set or a greenhouse, there was strong agreement that this is a home to covet.
EXPLORE INSIDE
The porch leads to a spacious hallway with very attractive cherrywood flooring. The first of two ground floor bedrooms is to the right, and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower to the left. The main sitting room, with French doors to the garden and a fireplace, is off the hall to the right. The kitchen, which also features a fireplace and large sitting/dining space, is to the left and leads to an attractive sunroom with doors to the garden. The master bedroom, to the rear, is large and fitted with ample wardrobes; the ensuite is also very roomy.
The hot press doubles as a utility cupboard, and there is a further storage cupboard under the stairs. Upstairs there is one further bedroom and a shower room.
Décor is largely neutral. Some of the fitted furniture would probably benefit from an update (coat of paint, modern handles sort of thing) but there is nothing urgently needed to make this a comfortable home.
There is definitely potential to make greater use of the upstairs space, subject to planning permission. With a fairly simple redesigned staircase and addition of a dormer area it could deliver extra sleeping space, office or workshop.
EXPLORE OUTSIDE
The rear garden is wide and long and very private, a beautiful space. To the front there is sufficient off-street parking for two cars.
There is a side passage front to back, as well as a garage.
Location is superb. Terenure, Templeogue and Rathfarnham villages are all close by, Bushy Park is just down the road. Schools, including Terenure College, Our Lady’s, High School, Presentation and St. Joseph’s are all within walking distance. There is a good range of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and sports facilities available between Templeogue and Terenure. Supermarkets are well served, with the German brands in Terenure village and a large Tesco in Rathfarnham Shopping Centre.
A good selection of bus routes can be accessed on the Templeogue Road or the Rathfarnham Road, and the M50 is less than a 10 minute drive away.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This is one of those ‘love at first sight’ properties.
Spacious private rear garden with a Westerly aspect
Off street parking for two cars
Garage to side
Gas fired central heating
